- Contact information, including name, email, phone, and mailing address
- Billing details collected at checkout (name, email, billing address, and phone). Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Case details and narrative you share through an intake form, email, or call
- For Fraud & Scam Recovery, transaction records such as dates, amounts, bank or exchange names, cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and transaction IDs
- Screenshots, documents, or evidence you provide
- Technical indicators (URLs, usernames, phone numbers, timestamps, and similar)
- Publicly available information gathered through lawful open-source research
- Appointment details when you book a call through our scheduling page
- Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Website analytics
Please never send passwords, full account numbers, Social Security numbers, seed phrases, or recovery codes through a form or email. If we need sensitive information to do the work, we will arrange a secure way to receive it.
3. How We Use Information
Information is used to:
- Provide cybersecurity services, monitoring, and assessments
- Conduct investigations and trace funds
- Analyze threats and exposure
- Process payments and keep business and tax records
- Communicate with clients
- Prepare documentation for law enforcement and financial institutions (with consent)
- Send our newsletter to subscribers
- Improve service quality and security
Consumer services rely on lawful, public-source information for personal safety only. They are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and may not be used for credit, employment, insurance, or housing decisions, or to locate, monitor, or contact anyone who does not wish to be contacted.
4. Confidentiality
All client information is confidential. We do not sell, rent, or trade client data. Information is shared only when:
- Required to perform the services you requested
- You provide explicit consent
- Required by law or court order

We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect client information, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across this website and checkout
- Multi-factor authentication on every account and system that supports it
- Secure evidence handling and limited access to case materials

6. Data Retention
Case information is retained only as long as necessary to provide services, meet legal and licensing obligations, or maintain investigative records. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Clients may request deletion of information we are not required to keep.

You may ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving our newsletter. Email contact@countervailintelligence.com and we will confirm your identity before acting on the request.
8. Cookies & Website Analytics
Our website uses basic analytics tools provided by our hosting platform to understand traffic patterns. These tools may use cookies and collect standard technical data such as browser type and approximate location; we use this information only in aggregate and do not use it to identify individual visitors.
9. Third-Party Services
We use established third-party providers for:
- Payment processing and checkout (Stripe)
- Email, calendar, appointment booking, and video meetings (Google Workspace)
- Website hosting, forms, and newsletter delivery (WordPress.com)
- Electronic signatures (DocuSign)
- Secure evidence transfer and storage
These providers maintain their own privacy policies.
AI-assisted tools
We may use AI-assisted tools, such as Anthropic’s Claude, to help organize information, draft documents and reports, and analyze publicly available data. When we do:
- We limit personal information to what the task requires, and we never enter passwords, full financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or recovery codes.
- We use account settings that, where the provider offers them, keep our data from being used to train AI models.
- Licensed investigators review and verify all AI-assisted work. AI tools do not make final decisions, findings, or determinations about you or anyone else.
- If you prefer that your case information not be processed with AI-assisted tools, tell us at intake and we will honor that request.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors without parental consent. If we determine in the course of our work that a subject is a minor, we handle that information consistent with our Services Agreement and applicable law, and we do not release identifying information about a minor to a client.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
